it's cooling is external and not subject to the internal system. Secondly an external GPU would blow the ph***ing doors off the GPU apple offers at present highest end laptop. While this is not supported by Apple it could be far more cost effective than having your Logic Board replaced since for quality assurance Apple solders parts to their Logic Boards so an identifiable inexpensive part will include the cost of the entire board just incase you needed that replaced too, or not it's not an option. My knowledge of this has never been applied but if the GP in the mac has failed and the system is out of warranty you may be able to run an external GPU/chassis from the thunderbolt port. I would appreciate any recommendations and links! Where could I buy a cheap one?.After doing some research, i found out that Apple used to have these problems with the 2011 editions.

Unfortunately, I do not have a warranty anymore. Again, the mac was working perfectly fine (no overheating noise, nothing) and just suddenly - without any comprehensible reason or external action, the graphic card failed. Only a few months later, the graphic card failed - without any obvious reason. Late 2014, I purchased a new 13-Inch Retina Display MacBook Pro mid 2014 model (A1502, EMC2875).
